Postman found dead inside forest in Odisha; probe begins

Sonepur: A 45-year-old postman was allegedly killed by unidentified miscreants at Kalapathar village under Sonepur police limits in the district in the wee hours today.

The deceased has been identified as Shatrughna Sandha.

As per reports, Shatrughna had gone to a check dam in a nearby forest at around 3 AM today. When he didn’t return to the house late in the morning, his family members started searching in the locality. They later found Shatrughna’s mutilated body from the forest.

It is suspected that some miscreants killed the postman with sharp weapons and fled the spot. On receiving information, Sonepur police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
