Postpone State Film Awards ceremony, directs Orissa High Court

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today directed postponement of the State Film Awards ceremony.

While hearing a writ petition filed before the High Court, Judge Arindam Sinha asked the State government to re-evaluate entries for awards with the help of concerned functionary. The result of the reevaluation has to be made known to the petitioner and all concerned, the court stated.

The State Film Awards ceremony was earlier scheduled to be held on December 14, 2021.

“In event petitioner reports to this court that his grievance has been taken care of or there is required adjudication, the ceremony will be held post order of disposal with the writ petition,” the court observed.

The court has fixed January 7, 2022 as the date for next hearing.
