Prof, sister critically hurt in LPG cylinder blast

Berhampur, Oct 7: 

Two women were critically injured after an LPG cylinder exploded in their home at Lalasahi in Badabazar area of the city today.

Both the victims, identified as Dr Anita Patnaik and her sister Gouri Patnaik, have suffered 90 per cent burns and shifted to a hospital in Visakhapatnam after their condition turned critical.

“Guests had come to my mother’s house. They went to the kitchen to prepare tea for them when the cooking gas cylinder burst,” said the husband of Dr Patnaik.

The house is completely destroyed under the impact of the blast.
