Bhadrak, Apr 20:

Properties worth Rs 9 crore, including 10 houses and around 450 business establishments, were damaged during the violence that had recently erupted in Bhadrak town of Odisha, a report of the district Collector said.

Bhadrak Collector Gyana Ranjan Das today submitted the damage assessment report to the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Central, AB Ota.

Worth mentioning, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, during his visit to the violence-hit town on April 12, had ordered officials for assessment of the damages during the unrest for announcement of compensation to the affected people.

Meanwhile, the district administration today relaxed curfew in the town for 14 hours from 6 am to 8 pm.

Notably, the communally-sensitive Bhadrak town was on boil after some inflammatory posts were posted on social networking site leading to tension between two communities.
