MCL bags PRSI National Award-2014 for Crisis Communication

Odisha based Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a Central PSU and leading subsidiary of energy major Coal India, today received the coveted PRSI National Award 2014 for Crisis Communication at the 36th Annual PR Conference being held in Jaipur (Rajasthan).

Instituted by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), the PRSI National Award 2014 for Crisis Communication (3rd for ‘PR in Action’) was presented by Hon’ble Speaker of Rajasthan Assembly Mr Kailash Meghwal to Mr Vinayak Jamwal, Assistant Public Relations Manager, Department of Public Relations, MCL Headquarters.

Jamwal was accompanied by the nominated nodal officers for PR, Ms Asha Jyoti, Assistant Manager (P-IR) and Mr Ajit Seth, Assistant Manager (HR).

During the crisis hours which challenged Company’s operations, the proactive approach of PR Department mobilised favourable conditions for the company to continue with coal production that ensured uninterrupted supply of dry fuel to the consumers, particularly the thermal power plants.

The eminent jury for the selection of awards included Mr Wajahat Habibullah, former Chairperson National Commission for Minorities and former Chief Information Commissioner, Mr S K Chaturvedi, Chairman, Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (State of Goa and Union Territories), Mr Sarthak Behuria, Group President-Modi Enterprises, Mr Madabhushi Sridhar, Central Information Commissioner, besides Mr Ajit Pathak, PRSI National President, Ms Sumita Singh, PRSI
Secretary General and Ms Nivedita Banerjee, Secretary Tresurer.

Mr A N Sahay, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, MCL and Mr P C Panigrahi have congratulated the Team PR on
this achievement.
