Malkangiri, Mar 17:
The examination of standard I-VIII, which started all over Odisha yesterday, was not conducted in Malkangiri district as the question papers were not ready on time.
While the examination was scheduled to be held from March 16 like all other places in the state, the sub-collector of Malkangiri yesterday issued a notification regarding the postponement of the examination.
The examination will start from March 25. The delay, however, has caused deep dissatisfaction among the parents and students.
“The examinations are going on all over the state for students of class- I to VIII, But things are different in Malkangiri. The students would have benefited from an early examination given the oncoming heat wave. I don’t know if it is the negligence of the administration or the education department,” rued Dinesh Patnaik, a guardian.
“We came prepared for the examination yesterday. However, it was not to be. It would have been better to have faced the examination on the day we were mentally prepared,” said a student.
“The deviation in Malkangiri examination schedule was caused by a delay at the state printing facility. We had asked for a clarification from the state printing facility regarding the printing price of the question paper and that delayed the whole process,” said Nruparaj Khatei – sub collector of Malkangiri
