Quit yoga, join politics: Odisha Min Dama Rout tells Ramdev

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Agriculture Minister and senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Damodar Rout, well known for his witty and tongue-in-cheek remarks, today advised yoga guru Baba Ramdev to quit yoga and join politics.

“Ramdev should quit yoga and do politics from now. That will be good. What proposal can he give? Ramdev should read. He should know that India is a federal country. The country constitutes 30 states. Whoever is the Prime Minister of the country will give equal attention all states. Ramdev should rather tell the Prime Minister to understand the constitution and extend cooperation to the State government,” remarked Rout in his reaction to reporters on Ramdev’s comment asking Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to join hands with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Notably, Ramdev who arrived here today to attend a conference of Patanjali product distributors, while speaking to reporters at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) had said that Naveen Patnaik and Narendra Modi should join hands.

“See I being a yoga man, I wish Naveenji and Modiji join hands,” Ramdev had commented.

The yoga guru had said that Odisha has vast natural resources, agriculture, agriculture related industry and human resource which have huge potential.
