Rahul to come on two-day visit to Odisha in Sept

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will come on a two-day visit to Odisha in September, informed Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Chief Prasad Harichandan here today.

Within the next one month, Block Congress Committees will be finalised and all vacant posts will be filled up in the next two months, informed Harichandan briefing the media at the end of the first PCC meeting after his assuming office.

Prasad said while a general secretary will remain in charge of a Lok Sabha constituency, three secretaries will remain in charge of the seven Assembly constituencies in it.

Congress will organize padyatras on different issues across the state in different phases taking two to three districts at a time while simultaneously going for a membership overdrive with a target for 32,000 booth level committees, said Harichandan claiming that the current membership of the party in the state stood at eight lakh.

A meeting of the extended executive committee of the party, which will adopt draft resolutions on political and organisational matters, is currently on at the Congress Bhawan here.
