Railways’ first pod hotel comes up in Mumbai; check tariff, other details

Mumbai/Bhubaneswar: The Indian Railways’ first pod hotel was inaugurated by Minister of State for Railways, Raosaheb Patil Danve on virtual mode today. The pod concept retiring rooms have come up at the Mumbai Central Railway station and the IRCTC will be managing it.

This unique concept will provide a much-needed travel solution to railway passengers.

Free WiFi, washroom, reading light, charging point, luggage and shower room in common area facilities will be available at the newly-inaugurated pod hotel. Besides, AC pods with TV facility will be available at the pod hotel.

There will be 48 pods including 30 classic pods, seven ladies-only pods, 10 private pods and one disabled-friendly pod at the pod hotel.

Passengers can book the pod hotel for 12 hours for Rs 999 and at Rs 1,999 for 24 hours.

For someone choosing a private pod for 12 hours, the customer will have to pay Rs 1,249 and for a 24-hour period the price is at 2,499.
