Rajendra College in Odisha’s Balangir gets university status

Balangir: The Odisha Government has accorded university status to Rajendra Autonomous College in Balangir district.

As per an official notification of the Higher Education Department dated March 2, 2019, the state government has altered the territorial jurisdiction of the Sambalpur University by establishing a new university– Rajendra University at Balangir– with effect from the date of publication of the notification.

Colleges in Balangir and Nuapada districts will be affiliated to the new university. Additional faculty positions for the university will begin soon, sources said.

Established in 1944, the autonomous institution has been accredited by NAAC as B++.
