Raising the issue, the Congress MLA from Jharsuguda Naba Das demanded a ruling from the speaker directing the chief minister Naveen Patnaik to speak to his Karnataka counterpart.

BJP MLA of Padampur, Pradip Purohit demanded a secretary level officer of the state be sent to Bangalore for fact-finding and report back to the House in the matter.

“The state government has taken up the issue with seriousness, the state Home secretary has spoken with his Karnataka counterpart and was in touch with the Odia association at Bangalore while putting pressure on the Karnataka government for immediate action against the guilty”, Bikram Keshari Arukh, minister Parliamentary Affairs informed the House while responding to the issue.

Meanwhile sources said Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra has discussed the issue with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over phone and has been promised of tough action against the culprits.

The Bangalore police on Sunday, finally, arrested the accused skating instructor, a paedophile, Mustafa alias Munna (30)  for the alleged rape of a six-year-old girl in the east Bangalore school.

Police have charged him under Section 376 (rape) of IPC and Sections 4 and 6 of Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (POCSO) Act 2012.

Bangalore police said Mustafa had allegedly tried to subject at least four other children to sexual abuse in the last three years. He was also using photos and video of his victims for pornographic purpose, police added.

“We have reliable information that he used to click photographs of children. He also showed them obscene videos of children in the Whitefield school (where he worked before 2011),” police commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar said after announcing the arrest of Mustafa.

The police was investigating if there were more people involved in the case while informing that Mustafa was married and has a two-year-old daughter, Auradkar said.

Police said the investigating team had found pornographic video clips on child rape on his laptop. “It has to be verified if there are any videos of children he may have sexually abused in the past,” the police said.

The six-year-old victim’s father had lodged a complaint on July 14 that his daughter had been sexually assaulted by two teachers around 11 am on July 2.

Hundreds of outraged parents and students on Saturday and Sunday took out protest rallies in Bangalore demanding stern action against the accused and the concerned school authorities over the alleged sexual assault inside the premises of an elite English Medium School in the city.

There was public outrage when  many schools in the city declared that they can’t be held responsible for the safety of students. The schools had asked parents to sign a form that the school’s staff or teachers can’t be held responsible for “damage to loss of property, sickness or injury from ‘whatever source’, legal entanglements, loss of life or money”.
