Realtor on the run arrested for Rs 5 cr fraud in Odisha

Baripada: A director of a real estate company was today arrested by police in district headquarters town of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district for duping people to the tune of over Rs 5 crore.

As per reports, the director of Apna Sapna Real Estates Pvt Ltd Abjashree Bindhani was wanted by Town Police since long in connection with land fraud.

Bindhani (47) was finally arrested by the cops today after searching for him for since last May.

Notably, a complainant Sukumar Ranjan Pradhan had filed a complaint with Town Police on May 23 last year that Bindhani had duped him of Rs 9.20 lakh as he failed to return his booking amount for a piece of land under plotted scheme.

As the accused failed to provide him land, the prospective buyer asked the former to return his investment. After dillydallying for long, he issued a cheque which got dishonoured reportedly due to insufficient balance.

Hence, Pradhan filed a case and police began probe into the matter.

The company having registered office at Delta under Baramunda in Bhubaneswar had a branch in Station Bazar area here. The company incorporated in 2010 has reportedly duped around 50 people to the tune of over Rs 5 crore.
