Rejected by kin, couple commits suicide at forest in Odisha's Jajpur

Jajpur: A 20-year-old boy and an 18-year-old girl, who were in a relationship, allegedly committed suicide at a forest near Paikarapur village under Dharmasala police limits in Odisha's Jajpur district after their family members rejected their relationship.

The deceased have been identified as Bapi Samal and Puja Mallick of the village. Locals this morning spotted the bodies hanging from a tree at a nearby forest, following which they informed police about it.

Both had eloped last evening after their kin rejected the relationship. Police have started investigation into the incident. The bodies have been seized and sent for post-mortem.
