“We have made elaborate arrangements for the fresh examination on April 15,” said Amrit Mohan Prasad, chairman of Odisha Police State Council Board (PSCB).

The written examination, originally scheduled on March 15, had to be cancelled at the last minute after reports of sale of question papers along with answer sheets began trickling in from many districts across the state on the morning of the test.

The examination, which was scheduled to commence at 11 am, had to be cancelled at the last minute. A Crime Branch probe into the incident was ordered the same day.

The Crime Branch arrested six persons allegedly involved in the question paper leak on March 24. Shockingly, four police personnel of constable rank were among those arrested. The other two were a constable job aspirant and a layman.

The arrested persons included Kishore Kumar Mohanty, the general secretary of Odisha Police-Sepoy Sangh.

As per reports, nearly 40, 000 candidates had applied for the 1300 odd constables’ posts on offer. The constable examination was to be conducted at 31 venues across the state.
