Rescued youth after suicide bid near state secretariat, dies

A youth who was rescued by police in front of State Secretariat in Odisha capital in a critical condition on Sunday after his suicide attempt has died today, here.

The deceased identified as Nirakar Sahu, was a resident of Khuntuni in Cuttack district. Nirakar was rescued by police in a serious condition after drinking poison and was undergoing treatment in the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

According, to media reports the youth was distressed due to a failed love affair with a married woman in his locality. He was the son of Nakula Sahoo hailing from Nuasasan village in Khuntuni. The woman’s husband had filed a police report accusing him of abduction.

Nirakar was running away from police and was hiding in Bhubaneswar. He had drunk poison yesterday in front of State Secretariat and was admitted to Capital hospital in serious condition.

He has reportedly died due to multiple organ failure, according to sources.
