Restriction imposed on Muharram procession in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: In view of possible communal violence during Muharram in the town here, the district administration imposed restriction on the procession.

The move came to avert any untoward incident during the Muslim festival when the idol immersion ceremony of goddess Durga is taking place across the state including in Bhadrak on same day.

At least 17 platoons of police forces have been deployed in several locations in Bhadrak town to maintain law and order. Four DSPs, two additional ACPs and 11 inspectors will be in place for security.

Besides, the senior police officers will keep vigil on entire activities of people in the town and monitor the security.
