Revenue Inspector arrested for taking bribe in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: Odisha Vigilance today arrested Samir Kumar Mallick, Revenue Inspector (RI), Japa, Jagatsinghpur district for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.

As per reports, the official had demanded the amount from a person in order to favour him in a mutation case in Erasama Tehsil in the district.

The person lodged a complaint in this regard with the anti-corruption agency, following which a trap was laid and the RI was caught red-handed while receiving the money from the complainant.

The bribe money has been recovered from Mallick and seized by the Vigilance.

While a case was registered in this connection, simultaneous searches were conducted on the properties of the official at two places in Jagatsinghpur district.

Further investigation was underway.
