Jeypore: A rice mill owner was allegedly kidnapped by miscreants in Borigumma area in Odisha's Koraput district.

The abductors allegedly demanded Rs 70 lakh ransom to release the kidnapped rice miller.

According to reports, A. Ramesh Patro, owner of Shree Lakshmi Rice Mill in Borigumma, was abducted by miscreants near a canal at Perahandi village while he was returning home by car after completing work at his mill at around 8 PM on Friday.

After kidnapping Patra, the miscreants allegedly demanded Rs 70 lakh ransom from his family towards his release.

Based on the complaint, the Borigumma police formed a team to rescue the victim and nab the culprits. The team verified the CCTV footage of the area to probe into the matter.

Following a preliminary investigation, police suspected the involvement of 3-4 persons behind the kidnapping of the rice mill owner.
