Robbers attack Odisha toll gate staff; decamp with Rs 15 lakh

In a daring broad daylight robbery, three armed robbers allegedly looted Rs 15 lakh from the employees of the highway toll gate at Srirampur in Odisha’s Jajpur district this morning, reports said.


Reports said the three armed robbers waylaid the employees of the toll gate, who were on their way to the bank to deposit the collection over the last three days, near Chandikhol.

Eyewitnesses said the robbers first broke the window panes of the Nano car in which the toll gate staff were travelling, threw chilly powder in their eyes and attacked one of them with a sharp weapon before decamping with the cash amounting to Rs 15 lakh.

The injured employee has been admitted the Badchana hospital.
