Robbers loot Rs 8 lakh at toy gunpoint in Odisha

Two unidentified miscreants looted Rs 8 lakh from a person threatening him with a toy gun at Imamnagar in Jagatpur area of Odisha’s Cuttack city last night.

According to reports, the incident took place when Kishore Behera, the victim and a staff of electricity bill collection firm RUPL, was returning from Salepur after collecting the dues.

As per a complaint filed by Behera with Jagatpur police, two miscreants came on a black colour Pulsar bike and intercepted him at Imamnagar canal road when he was returning to company’s office in Pahala in a car after collecting electricity bill payments from Salepur area.

While one of them threatened Behera with a gun, another broke open the rear window of the van and looted Rs 8 lakh present inside an iron box.

The robbers fled the spot soon after committing the crime.

On being informed, police reached the spot and seized a gun from the spot which was left by the looters. It was later found to be a toy gun, sources said.
