Ronaldo, Brazil most sought after by Indian football fans

New Delhi, June 3 :

With the football World Cup fever catching up in India, Portugal star Christiano Ronaldo is the most searched footballer in this cricket-crazy country.

Latest results by Google Search Trends revealed Tuesday that Real Madrid’s Rolando, Ballon d’Or winner, remains the most sought after with a distinctive lead over Argentinian star Lionel Messi and Brazilian Neymar. 

English soccer star Wayne Rooney and Spanish star Fernando Torres take the fourth and fifth spot on Google search.

Most of the queries for the 2014 World Cup came from the the soccer mad states of West Bengal and Kerala.

Five-time World Champions Brazil are also the favourites for Indian fans. Google Search Trends showed that Indian fans are keeping a close look at Selecaos with highest number of searches among participating nation’s attributed the various developments around Brazilian football team. England, Spain and Italy are also among the top favourites for Indians. 

Search trends also revealed a considerable interest among the fans for France. Mexico, the Netherlands and Portugal.

Excitement levels are high as fans are counting down to the opening ceremony and gearing up to support their favourite teams and star players.
