Rourkela Assistant Collector found dead in pond

Rourkela: Rourkela Assistant Collector Sushmita Minz (35) was found dead in a pond at Sensory Park here on Tuesday.

The Plantsite police recovered the body for post-mortem and handed it over to her family members after autopsy. An unnatural death case has been registered in this connection while further probe was underway.

She was under mental stress due to family-related issues, sources said.

According to reports, Minz went missing on Friday, following which her brother lodged a complaint in this regard with the local police on Sunday.

On Tuesday at around 3.15 pm, a security guard of the park spotted the body floating in the pond and informed the Plantsite police. Later, Fire Services personnel reached the spot and fished out the body from the pond.

Cops were examining the CCTV footage to ascertain the circumstances under which Minz went into the pond.
