Rourkela: Two brothers drown in Koel river, 2 go missing

Rourkela: In a tragic incident, two minor brothers drowned in Koel river near Jhirpani Pump House ghat in Odisha’s Rourkela city while two others went missing.

The deceased were identified as Rishi Sahu and Kunal Sahu.

According to reports, Rishi, Kunal, Ayush and Koushal had come to their relative’s place in Jhirpani with their parents from Jharkhand.

The four brothers went missing in the river while they were taking bath in the water body at around 3 PM. Locals present at the spot managed to rescue Rishi and Kunal.

The two were rushed to the Rourkela Government Hospital in a critical condition. However, they were declared dead at the healthcare facility.

Till last reports came in, Ayush and Koushal were yet to be traced. Rescue operation by Fire Services personnel was on to find the two.
