Rs 10 lakh looted from trader at gunpoint in Odisha; 3 arrested

Odisha police this morning arrested three persons for allegedly looting Rs 10 lakh from a businessman at gunpoint at Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district last night.

The arrested were identified as Prakash Chourasia, Ashish Gop and Pradeep Singh, all hailing from Jharkhand, police said.

Police have seized Rs 8.37 lakh, a country made gun, bullets and a motorcycle from their possession.

According to reports, four bike-borne looters had committed the crime yesterday after threatening the trader at gunpoint in front of his house and fled the spot.

However, three of them were nabbed by police from near Odisha-Jharkhand border today.

Efforts are on to nab the other accused.
