Rs 28 lakh seized by CBI ‘own money’, says Odisha BJD MP

BJD MP from Odisha Ramachandra Hansda today claimed that the Rs 28 lakh seized by the CBI during the raid on his Rairangpur residence on July 31 was his ‘own money’.

Emerging after a four-hour long grilling by the CBI here, the Mayurbhanj MP, however, refused to divulge details of the questioning saying the matter was sub judice.

Sources, however, said Hansda was interrogated by the CBI on his association with the Nabadiganta Capital Services, one of the 44 chit fund companies being probed by the CBI on the directions of the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, president of the Odisha unit of Youth Congress Rajat Choudhury today presented himself at the CBI office here for questioning in connection with the probe into the scam, reports said.
