Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today declared Rs five lakh compensation for each of those killed and Rs 50, 000 for each injured in the building collapse in Chennai.
Expressing profound grief over the death of four Odia labourers and injury to three others in the incident, Patnaik has directed the Labour secretary to coordinate with Tamil Nadu government to provide treatment and other facilities to the injured persons.
At least 10 labourers from Kashinagar block in Odisha’s Gajapati district are feared trapped inside the debris of the 12-storey building at Molibhakam in the West Chennai on Saturday evening.
More than 20 people have been confirmed dead in the mishap.
