Rs one lakh in old notes found from hundi of Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha

While many black money holders opted to throw their unaccountable money to water bodies post demonetization, others have resorted to dropping these into temple hundis to avert any chances of getting caught.

Such an incident came to fore after the hundi of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri was opened yesterday and Rs 4.75 lakh was found out of which Rs 1 lakh was in denomination of old Rs 1000 currency notes.

Worth mentioning, there were reports of increase in number of scrapped notes being donated to the temple inside the hundi after old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes were demonetized.
