Ruckus at CMC meet: Odisha police serves notice to 5 BJD corporators

The Twin City Commissionerate police today served notice to five BJD corporators of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) in connection with the ruckus at a CMC meeting on July 29.

The notice was served to the five corporators– Ranjan Khan, Bikash Behra, Anil Niladri, Itishree Behera, Dayanidhi Nayak– under Section 41-A of CrPC.

It may be recalled here that Congress and BJD corporators got into an ugly fight and manhandled each other at a CMC meet on July 29. The incident had taken place when the Congress corporators were staging a dharna by installing mosquito nets at the meeting alleging CMC’s failure to restrict dengue outbreak in the city.
