The state BJP is trying its best to extract the maximum out of the Gujarat strong man’s visit and revive its fortunes in its lost fortress-western Odisha- that has apparently been ‘usurped’by the BJD.

The DIG (Northern Division) Sanjay Kumar and a senior official of the Gujarat police visited Ainthapalli on Wednesday to take took stock of the security measures at the meeting venue.

The Odisha unit of the saffron party which is in an upbeat mood, is making all-out efforts for the success of the rally that it hopes would brighten BJP’s poll prospects in the western parts of the state.

The party expects a gathering of at least two lakh BJP loyalists and supporters at the rally.

This is Modi’s second visit to the state in a little over four weeks.

Modi had last addressed a rally in Bhubaneswar on February 11.
