Sananda Marandi elected deputy speaker of Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar, June 16:

Sananda Marandi, the BJD MLA from Baripada was today formally declared elected as the deputy speaker of the Odisha Assembly.

Marandi was elected as the deputy speaker by a voice vote on a proposal moved by chief minister Naveen Patnaik.

Marandi was also the deputy speaker of the last 14th Odisha Assembly.

After being elected, Mrandi thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for having reposed faith on him for the second time.

He also thanked the Opposition for their support.
