Sanjay Kumar Mohanty from Odisha takes charge as Member (O&BD) of Railway Board

New Delhi: Sanjay Kumar Mohanty has taken over as the New Member, Operations & Business Development (O&BD), and ex-Officio Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Railways, Railway Board.

Prior to this, Mohanty was working as General Manger, South Eastern Railway, Kolkata.

Mohanty has worked in various important capacities in Indian Railways like Principal Executive Director, Traffic Transportation at Railway Board, New Delhi, Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer, Chief Transportation Planning Manager (CTPM) in East Coast Railway, Regional General Manager of IRCTC, Bhubaneswar and Divisional Railway Manager at Khurda Road.

Mohanty’s contribution towards making Khurda Road Division the leading freight loading Division of Indian Railways is noteworthy.

Mohanty is an alumnus of the Delhi School of Economics and belongs to the 1985 batch of Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS). He is the youngest son of Late Krushna Prasad Mohanty, the well-known advocate of Balasore.

Also, Sanjay Kumar Mohanty has worked with distinction in various senior posts at Mumbai, Nagpur, Jhansi and in Konkan Railway and is well-known as a system-builder and for innovations in administration.
