Saumendra Priyadarshi takes charge as Twin City Police Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: IPS officer Saumendra Kumar Priyadarshi took charge as the Police Commissioner of Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack here today.

After assuming office, the 1995-batch IPS officer said he will discharge his duties in the post with full honesty and dedication.

“Maintaining law and order situation and crime detection and control are the two main objectives of every police officer. And challenge increases when you become a successor of a successful officer. I seek your cooperation during my service,” he said.

Outgoing Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi has been transferred and posted as the CMD of Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPH&WC).

Besides, 1988-batch IPS M Akhaya took charge as the DG of Fire Services, CG, Home Guards and Director of Civil Defence, Odisha.
