Bhubaneswar, June 27:

The Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), which conducts counselling for admission to the private and three government medical colleges and hospitals in Odisha, has confirmed that admission would be held for only 150 seats instead of 250 MBBS seats in the SCB Medical College and Hospitals in Cuttack following reduction of 100 seats by the Medical Council of India (MCI) citing inadequate infrastructure.

Several students were disappointed as this was revealed during the verification of documents by the DMET here on Thursday.

“Efforts would be made to restore the seats. If the Central government gives permission by September this year, admission for 100 seats would be made,” sources in the DMET said.

Meanwhile, document verification of 110 students at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Brahmapur and 130 students at VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla was held on Thursday
