School student drowns in Brahmani river

In a tragic incident, a high school student was drowned while taking a bath in Brahmani river here on Tuesday.

According to reports, a group of 5-7 minority students of Narla Road area had gone on a picnic trip to Tarkera in the morning.
Two of them had gone to the river bank near Tarkera Pump House for a bath when they slipped into the deep waters.
The incident took place between 3-5 pm, reports said.
Following information, fire tenders rushed to the spot and rescued a student. However, there was no trace of the other student, identified as Mohammad Saif Akhtar (15).
The search operation was still on till the reports last came in.
