Scooter rider dies as Odisha MP’s car hits it in Odisha’s Balangir

Balangir: In a tragic incident, a scooter rider died as the car of Niranjan Bishi, Rajya Sabha MP from Odisha, hit the two-wheeler at Tamia Chhak in Patnagarh area of Odisha’s Balangir district, today.

The deceased was identified as Tankadhar Biswal (35) of Indapur village under Larambha police limits.

According to reports, the driver of the car lost control over the wheels, following which it hit the scooter. Biswal fell down under the impact of the collision and died on the spot.

On being informed, the Patnagarh police reached the place, recovered the body for post-mortem and started investigation into the incident.

The driver of the vehicle surrendered at the Larambha police station after the road mishap.

On the other hand, the MP said he was not present inside the car at the time of the accident. Expressing grief over the matter, the parliamentarian said he will extend help to the family of the deceased.
