Commissionerate Police today arrested the second accused in the murder of a minor boy in the Odisha capital on Thursday.
The second accused, identified as Anil Nayak (19), was arrested from the Unit-VI area here and was forwarded to a local court today.
Debendra Prusty, an 11-year old boy from the sweepers' basti in Unit VI here was lured by Anil and his accomplice Suni Gochhyat on Thursday with the promise of chocolates, taken to a secluded a place near Mahima Ashram under the Airfield police station and strangulated after he resisted their attempt to have unnatural sex.
Sunil, who had been arrested by Capital police in connection with a bike theft case, was identified by the father of Debendra as the man who had lured his son away when he had gone to register a missing complaint to the Capital police station on Friday.
During the interrogation that followed his identification by Debendra's father, Sunil had confessed to his crime. Based on the information extracted from him, police recovered the body of Debendra from a bush near Mahima Ashram on Friday.
