Selfie inside Odisha’s Sri Jagannath temple goes viral

Puri: A selfie by a person inside the Sri Jagannath Temple premises in Odisha’s Puri and some other photos of the 12th-century shrine have gone viral on social media.

According to reports, the photographs were taken by one Yugal Kishore Baishnab and later uploaded on Facebook.

The incident has raised questions over security arrangements at the temple as similar photos had come to fore in the recent past.

A selfie by a woman from West Bengal inside the temple had gone viral on Facebook in a similar manner.

Likewise, several photos of Jagamohan and sanctum sanctorum of the temple were uploaded by Sadanand Sharma, a staff of Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research, Dhanbad, who had cooperated in the repairing work of the sanctum sanctorum.

Worth mentioning, carrying of cameras and video recording devices inside the temple are prohibited.
