Semester exams at NIT-Rourkela to be online

Rourkela: As students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela opposed the institute’s plan to hold end semester exams in offline mode, the NIT Senate today said the proposed semester examinations will be held in online mode.

In a notification, the NIT-Rourkela stated the institute will not be responsible for any kind of internet problem to appear end-semester exams in online mode. The schedule of the examination will be informed to students in advance.

During a meeting of NIT-Rourkela’s Senate today evening, a decision was taken to allow students to leave hostels in a week.

Worth mentioning, the B.Tech third year students of NIT-Rourkela demanded for online semester exams in view of a spurt in Covid infection on the institute’s premises.

Earlier, the premier technical institute in the State issued a notification stating that semester exams in offline will be held in two phases from April 5 to July 29.

A total three Covid cases have been detected in the institute this month.
