Senior OAS officer in dock over sending explicit message to woman colleague

A woman Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer has levelled allegations of misconduct against her senior colleague, who had sent objectionable messages to her through mobile messaging platform.

The woman officer has brought the allegations against state Project Director of Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) Premananda Khuntia of sending objectionable messages on WhatsApp.

An FIR was lodged with Nayapalli police station here alleging that the senior OAS officer had forwarded objectionable video to her. Following the complaint, the Bhubaneswar DCP has launched an investigation into the incident.

“The woman officer has filed an FIR with the Nayapalli police station. She has alleged that a senior officer has sent him objectionable messages on her mobile phone. We are investigating into the matter,” DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said.

The complainant is a Child Protection Officer with the Women and Child Development Department. She had earlier submitted a written complaint with the senior officials of the School and Mass Education Department in this regard but to no avail.

Khuntia could not be contacted for his comments.
