Sensex gains 61 points; healthcare stocks surge

Mumbai, Nov 11 :

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Tuesday was trading 61.02 points or 0.22 percent up in the early session as the healthcare sector gained.

Bombay-Stock-Exchange-BuildingGood buying was observed in healthcare and auto sectors, while marginal selling pressure was seen in IT sector.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,911.25 points, was trading at 27,935.75 points (at 09.17 a.m.) in the early session, up 61.02 points or 0.22 percent from the previous day’s close at 27,874.73 points.

The Sensex has touched a high of 27,969.77 points and a low of 27,909.62 points in the trade so far.

The S&P healthcare index surged by 88.44 points and auto index increased by 50.18 points; while IT index dropped by 4.88 points.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at 25.70 points or 0.31 percent up at 8,369.95 points.
