Sensex loses 132 points; oil and gas stocks tank

Mumbai, June 26 :

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Thursday was trading 132.25 points or 0.52 percent down as oil and gas stocks tank.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 25,217.69 points, was trading at 25,181.49 points in the pre-noon session, down 132.25 points or 0.52 percent from the previous day’s close at 25,313.74 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 25,309.33 points and a low of 25,129.06 points in trade. The S&P BSE oil and gas index tanked 342.36 points and metal index dropped by 30.11 points. However, capital goods index got augmented by 166.27points.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 36.65 points or 0.48 percent down at 7,532.60 points.
