The meeting, to be presided over by the Development Commissioner, will be attended by the additional chief secretary, Finance, secretaries of School and Mass Education and SC and ST Development departments and senior officials of the Higher Education department.

The Odisha government has not taken any steps in this regard till date as shortage of teachers infrastructure have become the two major impediments in carrying out the process of segregation.

The meeting will also discuss the implementation of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in all government and private colleges under the seven universities of the state. It may be noted that CBCS has been made mandatory by the University Grants Commission (UGC), which has warned the state government that it would stop aid if it fails to implement the system by 2015-16 academic session.
