Series of burglaries in an apartment in Odisha capital

In yet another case of series of thefts in an apartment building, thieves broke into and made off with valuables from three flats in Ghanshyam apartment in Nayapalli area in the Odisha capital on Tuesday.

Thefts, which took place last night, came to light today morning after residents found the doors of the three flats broken; they later informed the police. The police, after reaching the spot have started their investigations.

The flats are littered with things that the thieves have thrown around, while the cupboards have been pierced open with iron rods. Since, the flat owners are not present it is difficult to ascertain the valuables looted, police said.
No one was present in the three flats when the theft took place. One flat owner lives abroad, another is in Bangalore, while the third has gone to his native village for a few days.

The apartment residents are shocked at the incident as there are three security guards employed in three shifts around the clock in the apartment building.

Last year on December 27th four flats from Om Sai Arcade Apartments in Patia had been broken into when their owners were not present even though they had employed security guards.
