Seven fake CRPF men arrested in Odisha

Seven men impersonating as Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have been arrested in Odisha’s Nayagarh and forwarded to a local court here, police sources said today.

These impersonators dressed in CRPF uniform were moving in the bus stand area here in a suspicious manner following which police grew suspicious and questioned them about their credentials.

When they fumbled on being asked about their identity, police rounded them up.

Interestingly, these fake CRPF personnel were moving in a Mahindra Bolero SUV with police sticker on it.

Police seized fake CRPF identity cards, seven mobile phones, ATM cards, Rs 12,000 cash and the vehicle from their possession.

“Various cases are registered against these seven persons in different police stations in the state. Nayagarh Town Police Station IIC, Narayan Chandra Barik said.

The arrested have been identified as Santosh Sunda, Arun Das, Nabin Bag, Dilip Senapati, Kishore Podha, Abid Das and Khirod Hilal. They hail from Rayagada, Nuapada and Kalahandi districts.
