Seven minors injured in cracker explosion in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: At least seven minors were injured in cracker explosion here this morning.

The injured children were identified as Alok Behera, Hemanta Behera, Sarat Behera, Bhagabat Behera, Basudev Behera, Bhajahari Behera and Sadasiv Behera.

The explosion occurred at Sanadahadi village in Kuradhia panchayat under Basta police limits where seven children were bursting crackers post-Diwali.

The injured children were rushed to district headquarters hospital for treatment.

According to reports, several crackers were burst last night at the village. The children in the morning were looking for the crackers that were not burst last night. They wanted to burst few crackers out of them and sustained injuries while checking a cracker to know why it did not burst even after catching the fire. Suddenly, the cracker exploded injuring them.

The health condition of all the injured children is stated to be well.

This is the second such incident reported in the district just four days after Diwali celebration on Oct 19.
