Sex racket in garb of ayurvedic massage parlour busted in Odisha capital

For the second time in less than two months, Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Commissionerate Police busted a prostitution racket running under the guise of an ayurvedic massage parlour in Baramunda area under Khandagiri police limits in Odisha capital this evening.

Following the raid by QAT along with Khandagiri police station staff on Sai Herbal Spa Holistic Treatment situated at plot number-AL-95 of Housing Board Colony in Baramunda, the team nabbed a pimp identified as Raj Kumar Sahoo (22) and a customer identified as Manoj Behera (24).

“We are interrogating the owner of the house, Madhusmita Rout (23), whether she has any knowledge of the sex racket running at her house after handing it over to the pimp. We can take any legal action against her if it emerges during interrogation that she was aware of it,” said a senior official of Khandagiri police station.

Three girls who were engaged in illegal sexual activities under the cover of ayurvedic massage have been rescued. Articles like condoms and medicines have been seized during the raid.

The girls will be given shelter at a short stay home .Necessary legal action will be taken against other accused persons, the police official added.

Notably, the Police had busted a prostitution racket running in an ayurvedic massage parlour – Ayur Herbal Health Care- in the Goutam Nagar area under Badagada police station on June 13 this year and had arrested two people, including the pimp in the incident.
