The three women clerical staff alleged that their branch head, K Surendra of Andhra Pradesh, was sexually harassing them as well as other female employees.

“Surendra frequently calls us to his chamber and touches us inappropriately. He also asks us for an outing to Puri. His words always have a double meaning during a conversation,” said one of the complainants.

The female employees were accompanied by eight male employees of the bank to the police station to lodge the complaint.

“Surendra is very influential. Even after complaining to the HR department about him, the concerned officials did not listen to our complaint,” one of the male employees of the IndusInd Bank said.

“After complaining to the authorities about Surendra’s behavior with the female employees, Mohan Krishnan, the HR manager of the bank, came to Bhubaneswar and conducted an inquiry into the matter. However, instead of taking action against the branch head, he threatened the female employees to keep their mouths shut or face dire consequences,” said another employee of the bank.

Meanwhile, the police said they are investigating into the case.

Police further said Surendra will be called tomorrow for questioning.
