Shalini Sheetal tops CBSE Class XII exams in Odisha

Bhubaneswar:  Shalini Sheetal has emerged as Odisha topper in the Central Board of Secondary Education class XII board exams, the results of which were declared today.

A Science student of Mother’s Public School here, Shalini has secured 488 marks out of 500.

Thanking all her teachers for her success, an elated Shalini said: “I have got 98.2 per cent only because my preparations and guidance of my teachers.”

Expressing her interest to pursue engineering, the state topper said she would take up Computer Science next.

Hansika Sharma and Karishma Arora, both from Uttar Pradesh, have scored 499 marks each and have been declared joint toppers of the CBSE Class 12 exam 2019.

A total of 12,05,484 students from across the country took the examination and 10,05,427 cleared it.

The Trivandrum region emerged at the top with a pass percentage of 98.2 per cent. The Chennai region stood second with a pass percentage of 92.93 while Delhi stood at the third place with 91.87 per cent.

The overall pass percentage is 83.4 as compared to 83.01 per cent in 2018, – a rise of 0.39 per cent.
