Shame! 5-yr-old divyang girl raped by minor neighbour in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: In a shameful incident, a five-year-old a divyang minor girl was allegedly raped by her relative in Odisha capital, police sources said.

The matter came to light after the parents of the rape survivor lodged police complaint. Police have arrested the accused teenager.

The incident occurred at Mahisakhal slum under Badagada police limits.

Sources in the police said the minor girl was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.

A case has been registered under sections 376 (1) (2) of IPC and section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act based on the preliminary medical report.

As the accused is stated to be minor, he along his parents is being interrogated by police in the matter.
