Shame! Woman raped by father-in-law in Odisha

Kendrapara:  In a shocking revelation, a young woman has levelled rape charges against her father in-law following that police have registered an FIR against the accused.

The shameful incident occurred at Badanaukana village under Rajnagar block in the district.

The accused, identified as, Khirod Bhadra has been arrested yesterday after a round of questioning by the cops.

As per the FIR lodged by the woman, her father-in-law allegedly outraged her modesty many times in the past finding her alone in the home. The woman’s husband works in Hyderabad.

The hapless woman alleged that her father-in-law once tied her legs and hands and put a towel in her mouth before raping her inhumanly in their home.

She had told about the incident to her husband but when she was asked to keep mum till he returns. But when she found the old man doesn’t to change either his character or behaviour she approached police.

Following this, locals demanded stern action against the accused saying the incident brought dishonour to the village.

Meanwhile, the police has started investigation into the matter.

Earlier this month, a 23-year-old woman died after she was set on fire after rape allegedly by her father-in-law, who is a renowned businessman, at Rairangpur town in Mayurbhanj district.
